I am reminded of an old saying, “without hard work, nothing grows but weeds”. I should say, this saying is more applicable to farmers where they grow rice in the fields and if not properly tended, weeds would overcome them, well literally. But the saying goes well in personal development. Without proper training and education, nothing is ever learned. And if farmers are to plants, then pupils are to teachers. Yes, teachers work so hard that no ‘weed’ would ever dwindle amongst us youth.
I consider teachers one of the greatest farmers of men ever. They cultivate every aspect of men and develop them until no ‘weed’ could ever grow amongst their midst. They enlighten every student in every way and help them develop a better future. They are not only selfless givers but also the mentors of our lives. Many times, we feel like thanking our teachers but we do not find the proper occasion. So this teachers’ day, I would like to thank our dear teachers for guiding us, inspiring us and molding us of what we are today. I may not say it always, but deep in my heart, I mean it always.
I am very grateful God created teachers, because of them we are assured of a better future. To my dear teachers, you have been more than mentors to us, but guiding lights, philosophers and best of friends! Wherever I may go in my life, I will always remember that in this journey my roads would have been rougher without my teachers.
